@smalldat/sandycoast is dual-licensed. It's free for non-commercial use, and revenue-generating organizations buy a commercial license.

Non-commercial — free

Individuals, personal projects, research, teaching, evaluation, and non-profits. Use, modify and redistribute under MIT-style terms.

No fee

Commercial — paid

Any company or for-profit entity using the library in a revenue-generating product, service, or internal tool needs a paid commercial license.

Contact office-dat@smalldat.com to agree fees and terms. Until a written commercial agreement is in effect, no rights are granted for commercial use.

Section A — Non-Commercial (free)

MIT-style permission to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense and sell — but scoped to Non-Commercial Use: use by an individual, or for research, teaching, evaluation, or by a non-profit, where the use is not primarily directed toward commercial advantage and is not on behalf of a commercial organization's revenue-generating activity. The copyright and permission notice must be included in copies.

Section B — Commercial (paid)

Any use that is not Non-Commercial Use — shipping in a paid/ad-supported product, operating a customer-facing service, or internal use at a for-profit company to support revenue — requires a paid commercial license obtained in writing.
